Indulgz-ing...

I brought Flo to this little tucked away fine-dining cafe, Indulgz Bistro, at a street behind Bugis Junction for her birthday celebration. It is also both of our first time here. I got to know about this place from Xiaxue's blog, and the food looks so yumlicious i cun wait to try it out! Flo's upcoming birthday was a good opportunity to give this place a try. Shall we go on a food journey?? =)

The birthday girl waiting expectantly for the food... hehz

Super cool. Iced water served in a glass bottle. But u have to pay for iced water in the cafe=(

This is my favourite starter... Deep-fried Camembert Cheese with Mixed Berry Compote. It was the one i wanted to try ever since i saw their menu online and also the most expensive.. $12.00 for 4 pieces of fried cheese.. but nonetheless worth it! it's very very good, especially when you eat it with the hot berry sauce. yumz!

The pic only shows 2 pieces, but there are actually 4 pieces. I nearly forgot to take pictures before the food is devoured, and i was like that throughout the dinner.

Me: AHHH... i forgot to take pic!
Flo: okok.. u still got 2 pieces to take pic of...
(After some courses) Flo: *rolls eyes* Are you going to take pic of EVERY food?
Me (acting like a "xiang(3) ba(2) lao(3)") : Of course la! wun come here often one le.

cheese flowing out.. *droolz*

Flo's Butterscotch & Caramel Thick Shake.. it is really quite delicious.

Bday gal likes it!

Lobster Bisque with Crabmeat Soup... I won't recommend this if you are not used to non-creamy soups.. It is abit of an acquired taste, i dun like it much myself. It is frothy, with a rather burnt taste. Well it is maybe tooo acquired for my liking le.

Battered Calamari Rings... Hmm, the batter is too deep-fried for me to taste the calamari much. heh. I would think the calamari at Fish & Co's and Changing Appetites are better.

My Linguini Marinara... they are not very generous with the ingredients.. but then it is fine-dining. So they probably focussed more on the quality. You have to pay to add on ingredients. But then cos i really love my pasta, i get quite fussy with the taste and all. In my opinion, it cannot really compare to Changing Appetites' Waterworld pasta even in terms of taste.

me with my pasta...

Flo's Baked Honey Garlic Chicken was much more satisfactory.. You can taste every bit of the juices and the sauces in the chicken, which i think can only be attributed to the fact that they took a long time over the marinating and the preparation of the dish. So my verdict is, go for the entrees in the menu but not the pasta=)

Flo with her baked chicken looking very satisfied.

Our dessert... Chocolate fondue.. beautifully served.

Bday girl with the fondue..

Do give this place a shot. A wonderful place to go to if you are celebrating special occasions. I do like the atmosphere and the fact that it is tucked away in a quiet corner away from the noisy bustling shopping areas. i hope Flo had a good time too=) But pls do make reservations before you go there, lest there are no places. I didn't know have to make reservations, but luckily the staff were nice to let us in (cos we are the first customers in the evening too!). Also due to the fact that we were waiting for like, 15mins outside the cafe so they felt bad i guess. But please make reservations.. cos the cafe is quite small and it gets packed towards the later part of the evening. Check out the menu at the website below:
